I am very proud to be the Chair of the Board of Trustees (Directors ) of the Heathland Whitefriars Federation.
The Board of Trustees work hard to support the Headteachers, leadership team, teaching staff and pupils with the aim of ensuring that Heathland School and Whitefriars School are the best that they can be, and that the Schools work well together.
The members that make up the Board of Trustees represent the local authority, the community, the school staff and parents. All our representatives have their own careers and responsibilities but they dedicate time to the Schools.
As well as sharing a common desire to be involved in supporting the Schools, the Trustees have statutory duties by which they are legally bound. The Trustees are ultimately responsible for all matters relating to the Schools, including teaching and learning, safeguarding, health and safety, staffing, premises and ensuring financial accountability and sustainability. The full Board of Trustees meet once every half term, while sub-committee meetings consider the more specific areas of resourcing, standards and safeguarding.
